Setup/Moulder Operator

Job Summary:


The Setup/Moulder Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining moulding machines to shape lumber and other building materials according to specified dimensions and
quality standards. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and adherence to safety
protocols to ensure the production of high-quality moulded products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Machine Setup: Set up moulding machines according to production specifications,
    adjusting settings to achieve the desired dimensions and quality of the finished product.
  • Operation: Operate moulding machines to shape lumber and other building materials,
    monitoring the process to ensure consistent output.
  • Quality Control: Inspect and measure finished products to ensure they meet specified
    dimensions and quality standards. Make adjustments as needed to correct any issues.
  • Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of moulding machines,
    ensuring they are in good working order. Report any mechanical issues to the
    maintenance team.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety guidelines and procedures, ensuring a safe
    working environment. Use protective equipment as required and report any safety hazards.
  • Material Handling: Load raw materials into the machine and unload finished products.
  • Organize and store materials in designated areas.


Requirements:

  • Experience: Previous experience operating moulding machines or similar equipment in a lumber or woodworking environment.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and
    production specifications.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and move heavy materials and stand for extended
    periods during machine operation.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong focus on precision and quality, with the ability to detect and correct defects in finished products.
  • Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety protocols related to machine operation and material handling.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with machine operation and
    product quality.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in machine operation is
    a plus.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed in a warehouse or production facility with exposure to noise, dust, and machinery.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required, including safety glasses, ear protection, and gloves.
